OK, so the house was a mess and I finally said "Enough is enough" on Monday and decided to crack on and get the place sorted. Given the outside is looking rather spangly now thanks to the council I figured the inside should at least reflect the smartness of the external appearance. Also with September's trip in mind I knew I had to start finding stuff we might need. Fold away tables, chairs, gas canisters, gas lamp, battery lamp (with remote), cookers etc.

So in amongst everything else I find the pack of cleaning wipes for the computer I'd mislaid a few months ago, the charging lead for my bluetooth hands free device and after two days of swearing I'd brought the device in for charging I went back to the car for the third time this morning and found it under the drivers seat!  odie  hystery1

So I now have a much tidier house, a much tidier head (messy house usually reflects messy head) and most of the kit put to one side for C&C 2010.

Well done mate - feels good, doesn't it?

If you read "Getting Things Done" you will find that there's an even better state in which to be - having an empty head.  Yes, go on, get the jokes over with, I'll wait...

...seriously though, the idea is that you get all the stuff you are trying to remember to do, OUT of your brain and into a trusted system that reminds you what actions you need to take when you are in the context in which you can take them.  You only use your brain for what it does best - thinking (not remembering).  It works - LIKE MAGIC.  The result is a clear mind, and then you start having all kinds of creative ideas.  I've had an amazing time since I picked up GTD again a couple of weeks ago after a three-year hiatus.  Why didn't I keep going the first time?  This thing is genuinely life-changing!
